Light and uncomplicated. These were designed for those who want to move really, really fast and those who think it’s just plain crazy to carry heavy things around in the woods. A great blend of suspension, structure and weight conscious materials. Tough Stuff: The super-light 100D ripstop nylon pack body fabric is impregnated with silicone for waterproof strength that won’t wear out or rub off over time. The heavier 420D nylon used for the pack bottom is just plain tough. Simple Comfort: Packs don’t have to be complicated to be comfortable. The z-foam back panel and removable frame sheet are shaped to match the curve of your back. Nothing fancy. (Just lots and lots of prototypes.) Cool It: Poke the z-foam on the back panel (don’t worry, it’s tough stuff) and you’ll see it springs back. That compression/ reaction motion happens as you hike, pumping air through to keep your back cool. Foam Sweet Foam: More foam does not equal more comfort. Super-plush belts and straps look comfy in the store but flatten out under pressure. Comfort happens when pressure is distributed evenly through good design and foam resilient enough to maintain volume under load. Keep It Clean: There was a time when packs were judged by how many zippers, buckles and straps they had. We’re glad those days are over so we can concentrate on better ideas like daisy chains that tuck away when you don’t need them.

This perennial frameless favorite of ultralight backpackers gets a serious update and a reduction in weight! As in redesigned shoulder straps, a true “roll top” closure to keep out the elements, a mesh pocket in front and a padded hip belt. There are also some weight saving tweaks – 10mm tather than 1 inch webbing that keep the weight below the original version even with the added features!The end result – a more comfortable Vigra that still defines ultralight and weighs 2 ounces less than its predecessor.

Like its predecessors, The Blaze AC 60 Ki is Spartan in its simplicity and features our engineered AirCurrent suspension. The AirCurrent suspension consists of a 3-dimensionally molded alloyed frame, our quickest torso length adjustment system, padded shoulder straps, and a swappable hip belt for a custom fit. The AC frame has molded air channels, works in conjunction with a molded foam pad and durable stretch mesh to aid in venting heat and moisture away from the back; allowing for natural evaporating cooling. The pack body is a simple, lidless top loader with a tall spindrift opening that can be cinched and rolled down tight for weather resistance and also expanded when extra space is needed. The arched Line-Loc compression system allows the load to be cinched tight in every direction (side, front, and top) as well as allowing additional gear to be lashed to the pack. The Line-Loc cord can easily be replaced if it wears out from extended use. Durable and versatile stretch mesh pockets on the bottom of the pack sides work well for water bottles, while the tall front center pocket is great for damp tarps or ultralight tents.

Light, breathable approach shoe with a Stealth rubber outsole increases performance with a durable, more protective toe cap that wraps up around the big toe. EVA midsole adds comfort on rocky conditions.

The Traditional series refines the age-old portage pack design with an anatomically cut harness system, sternum strap, arched lid and drawcord overflow. A padded hip belt adds comfort and stability over long portages.

At 34.5 liters, the Splitrock is on the larger side of Granite Gear’s Campus Collection. This spacious capacity is contained within multiple specialized compartments that make it easier to pack for school, work or travel.
